History

The Jones-Payton Boys and Girls Water Polo program was established in 2007 and originally ran out of Truman City College in the Uptown neighborhood. Students from both schools wanted to play and compete in CPS. At the time, neither Jones College Prep or Walter Payton College Prep had a pool at their respective campuses. Players from both schools would travel after school on the CTA Red Line. Students, coaches and families would work together to coordinate, improvise and contribute, eventually competing out of Chicago. In 2010, the Truman College Pool closed and the team trained out of multiple local park pools and neighborhood high schools, until the opening of the new Jones College Prep building in 2014.

Annually, the teams hosts the Windy City Classic, bringing in up and coming teams from the Chicagoland area, into the heart of downtown Chicago for an action packed week of water polo.
